Easy booking, fun experience

Booked the dolphin kiss online. Process was quick. Got there, no issues. The dolphin was super gentle. Had a great time. Would recommend.

Dolphin Trek was a great time

I booked the Dolphin Trek for my family of four back in October. The online booking process was straightforward, and I appreciated the 15% discount for booking ahead. Confirmation came through quickly, which was good. We arrived about 30 minutes before our scheduled time, and check-in was smooth, no long lines. The staff working with the dolphins were very knowledgeable and clearly cared for the animals. My kids, 8 and 10, loved the experience, especially getting to interact in the water. We also added the souvenir photo package, and while it was a bit pricey, the photos captured some great memories. The only small hiccup was finding parking at La Isla Shopping Village; it was a bit crowded that day. Overall, a very positive experience and I'd recommend it for families visiting Cancun.

Good afternoon at the aquarium

I went to the aquarium part, just general admission, with my partner last week. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon out of the sun. The jellyfish exhibit was pretty cool, and we liked the seahorse display too. It wasn't too crowded, which made it easy to see everything. We walked through in about an hour and a half. Nothing super fancy but a decent amount of fish to look at. We skipped the extra experiences but the general entry was alright.

So much fun, loved the dolphins!

Oh my goodness, I went for the swim with dolphins and it was amazing! The dolphins were so playful and friendly. The trainers were super nice and explained everything really well. I got to do the dorsal tow and it was such a rush. I'm telling all my friends they have to go. Definitely going back next time I'm in Cancun!

Does anyone know if you really need to book the dolphin swim in advance, or can you just show up and get tickets?

H Hannah Robinson 5 days ago
You definitely should book ahead, especially if you want a specific time slot or if it's during a busy season like spring break. They fill up fast.

For sure book online. I went during Christmas and it was packed. Plus, you usually get a discount for booking on their website, so win-win.

Is this aquarium worth it compared to say, Xcaret or some of the other parks in the area? Just for the general aquarium stuff, not necessarily the dolphins.

D Danielle L. 5 days ago
Xcaret is a whole different beast, way bigger and more of an all-day park with tons of stuff. This aquarium is more focused on marine life and the dolphin interactions. If you just want a few hours with fish and maybe some rays, it's good.

I'd say it's smaller and more intimate than the huge parks. If you're really into seeing lots of fish and maybe doing a quick touch tank, it's fun for a couple of hours. But for a full day of varied activities, Xcaret has way more.

Is the aquarium inside or outside? Wondering if it's a good rainy day activity.

K Kevin Garcia 4 days ago
Most of it is indoors, like the main exhibits and tanks. The dolphin area is outside, obviously, but the general aquarium part is a good escape from the weather.

Anyone done the dolphin swim recently? Do they make you buy the photos or is there like, one included?

N Nancy Moore 3 weeks ago
Nope, photos are almost always extra. They have photographers taking tons of pics, but you gotta pay for the package afterwards. It's usually not cheap.

S Susan Smith 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they get you with the photos. They're good quality but prepare to open your wallet if you want to take them home. Definitely not included in the basic swim price.

I'm looking at doing the dolphin swim, but it's kinda pricey. Are there usually any promo codes floating around, or do I just use the website discount?

J Jacob Sanchez 5 days ago
Most of the time, the best deal is just booking on their official site; it usually gives you 10-20% off automatically. Sometimes they have seasonal stuff, but those are rarer.

I checked Groupon and other sites like that, but the best discount I found was just through their own website when I booked. Pretty straightforward, no special code needed usually.
